2. About this service
The UXcamp Session Matching app is a spontaneous, non-commercial project created as part of UXcamp Europe 2026. It gives the roughly 600 attendees a way to log which sessions they visited during the day and find other people who attended the same sessions — making it easier to start conversations and connect.
3. What data is processed?
When you save your session choices, the following data is stored on the server:
- Name (required) — to identify you to other participants
- LinkedIn URL (optional) — to make it easier to get in touch directly
- Sessions attended — the list of session numbers you marked
- Timestamp of last save — for technical traceability
The app also stores your name and LinkedIn URL in your browser's localStorage so you are recognised automatically on return visits. This data never leaves your device and is not shared with any third party.
No cookies are set, no IP addresses are logged, and no analytics or tracking services are used.
4. Purposes of processing
- Displaying your attended sessions within the app
- Calculating session overlaps with other participants
- Showing your name and the number of shared sessions to other logged-in users
- Showing your LinkedIn URL to other logged-in users, if provided
Data is used exclusively for these purposes within the context of UXcamp Europe 2026 and will not be processed for any other purpose.
5. Legal basis
Your personal data is processed on the basis of your freely given consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You give this consent by actively saving your session choices. You may withdraw your consent at any time (see "Your Rights" below).
6. Visibility to other users
Once you have saved your sessions, the following information is visible to other users of the app:
- Your name
- The number of sessions you have in common with the requesting user
- Your LinkedIn URL, if you provided one
The exact list of sessions you attended is not visible to other users.
7. Data storage and security
Data is stored in a SQLite database on the server running this application. The server runs as a Docker container; the database resides in a persistent Docker volume and is not publicly accessible. No data is transferred to third parties or to countries outside the EU.
8. Retention period
All personal data will be permanently deleted within 30 days after the end of UXcamp Europe 2026. Deletion upon request is possible at any time before that deadline (see below).
Your Rights
You have the following rights regarding the personal data stored about you:
- Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You may request information about the data stored about you at any time.
- Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can correct inaccurate data at any time by re-saving your choices in the app.
- Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You may request complete deletion of your data at any time.
- Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): You may object to the processing of your data at any time. In that case, your data will be deleted without delay.
- Right to withdraw consent: You may withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.
To exercise any of these rights, please contact us by e-mail: contact@jona.email
Right to lodge a complaint
If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the GDPR, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority depends on your place of habitual residence, your place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
A list of EU supervisory authorities can be found at:

Clearing your browser storage
The data stored in your browser's localStorage (your name and, if provided, your LinkedIn URL) can be removed at any time by clearing the site data for this page in your browser settings.
